There are rumors afoot that Scott Brown may be the new Republican Man On Horseback, with people--including Matt Drudge--already suggesting he may pull "an Obama" and parlay his time as a state Senator, and a partial term in the United States Senate into a run for the Oval Office. Saran Palin, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Tim Pawlenty, Jeb Bush, John Huntsman, Paul Ryan, Rick Santorum (we thought he was in jail or something!), and John Thune may have a different idea. . .

A sad day in the annals of "journalism"

It's a very sad day in the annals of journalism, and another reminder of just why the newspaper business is dying. Katie Couric's interviews with Sarah Palin have just received the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

It is stunning when ambush journalism is awarded one of the formerly well-regarded Pulitzer honors, when in fact, the Pulitzer board should have sanctioned Katie Couric along with her rapidly shrinking network.
